Cherry Blossom Dresser

I am finally able to share this piece with you! I actually finished it a few months ago, but I wasn’t allowed to post about it until Dixie Belle was ready for the transfer to go on sale to the public. I have waited so long and here it goes!

I found this chest of drawers on Facebook Marketplace. I tend to love pieces like this, with the long legs and elegant lines. We picked it up and my husband reattached one of the legs that had broken off at some point (the owner told me it happened during her move). Once the leg was secure and glued back into place, I could begin!

I started with a scuff sand and then wiped down the entire piece. Since it has quite a feminine vibe, I started with a base coat of Pink Champagne by Dixie Belle Paints. This is a very pretty, soft pink. Once that dried, I went in and filled any holes or scratches and sanded them for a smooth finish.

You can follow along in my video tutorial below and see how I next blended in a darker green and created a deeper pink by adding red to the Pink Champagne. I had the lighter pink, the darker green and the deeper pink to blend.

The transfers are SO pretty and very easy to apply. I cut them out and placed them on the dresser in a random design and was very happy with the result. I added a very faint wash over the transfers (see how to add a wash over transfers HERE).

I applied gold shimmer glaze in places and sealed it all with clear wax. The glass pulls really were the perfect finishing touch.

This elegant piece was sold on Etsy and is now in New York! If you want to recreate the look, the products I used can be found HERE or on my Shop Paints page!
