Empire Chest in French Linen - Before and After!

I found this great, large Empire style chest in a thrift store last month. It was all by itself in the way back, looking quite forlorn and so I bought it. It is quite heavy so getting it home was no joke but it was well worth the effort!

I love these Empire style pieces. I finished one very similar quite a few years ago. You can read about that transformation here.

For today’s before and after post, take a look at the “before” pic below. You can see that it needed a lot of work before it was ready to paint. A ton of wood filler and sanding.

Here is a video on the makeover process…

And here are a few “after” pics to share!

I just listed this piece on my Shop on this site, as well as my Etsy shop and (new to me!) Facebook Shop. I now have shops galore! It honestly took me an entire day to figure out how to set up shopping on Facebook and Instagram. I never thought I was a complete idiot until I sat down to that task!

I hope everyone had a great week and weekend. Our trip to Boston was freezing cold and windy but we still enjoyed ourselves and really loved the city!

We took a nice walk through MIT, Harvard, Boston University and Boston College. There was a ghost tour, a duck tour and shopping. Fun with my girls :)
