French Bombe Chest - Before and After

See this content in the original post

I found this antique French Bombe chest on Facebook Marketplace. I honestly have been so incredibly busy with commission pieces, that I rarely have time to look for my own “finds” these days. I was lucky because I happened to stumble across it when I opened up the FB app and this popped up.

I think you can see why I fell in love with it! My husband drove out to pick it up that morning. This piece is super old. The veneer was missing all over it but I knew that with a ton of wood putty and sanding, I could restore the finish well enough to apply a great paint finish. Actually, I can show you the process in my video below!

You can really see how the light plays with the blended paint colors. It looks so much brighter in some light than others. It is honestly lovely.

The marble top is original to the piece. It has a scratch but who cares? It is so pretty and I feel the paint complements the marble.

How-To Thursday post this week! I think I will do a quick video on how to blend with Dixie Belle paints. I did a little video on how to blend the paint with transfers, which is the same idea, but this time I’ll show you on a piece of furniture. Take care!
