Removing Wallpaper and a Spanish Moss Dropleaf Table

First up is this makeover of a client’s lovely old dropleaf table. It started out in great condition although a little bland, and a few coats of Dixie Belle Spanish Moss, gold gilding wax for its feet, and clear wax to seal it, really gave it a great new look!

Next up is a little update to our Wye Oak Cottage in Secretary, MD. We have been busy sanding the floors, and removing a ton of old wallpaper (three layers) off the plaster walls. OMG, what a job! As you can see, a true family affair.

We are also sanding the floors (I say “we” but it is really my husband”)! The valance that you see is a thrifted find and I took it down after this pic, and it is being washed. I put it up to see how I liked it before the sanding began and now it really does need a good clean.

And look below at the great fabric I found at the thrift store for my new curtains! They were made into some kind of long covers and need to be unstitched but there is a ton of fabric, and enough to make 8 panels for the living room.

A belated Happy New Year! Here is hoping to a healthy 2022 for all of us!
