Wallpaper and Plaster Walls

We are trying - really trying - to get this old wallpaper off the bedroom walls! Our walls are made of lath and plaster, and honestly I have never worked with walls like these before.

For the wallpaper, there are three layers to dive into and remove. The problem is that it is adhered to the plaster. In order to remove the paper, we are removing chunks of the old plaster and it come off in dusty clouds and debris. It’s not fun!

Removing wallpaper with the “crew”!

The next step in our DIY journey will be figuring out how to skim new plaster on the walls to repair the damage. Our upstairs hallway also has paper that has been painted and is on top of old wallpaper and the plaster. That will be SO much fun to remove :/
